"Muddled
Meanderings"
![]() |
Bob now earns his living from the good old-fashioned outhouse. And he has a lot of fun celebrating this dwindling bit of Americana through his photography and verse. Both he and his subject go back a long time. Bob was born in 1921 in the small town of Mussleshell, Montana, with a population, he says, of "about 50 people on a Saturday night." Made of logs, the Ross family home had no electricity or running water. And out back stood a good old outhouse - a three holer. "Muddled Meandering In An Outhouse Number 2", "More Muddled Meanderings In An Outhouse" and "Muddled Meandering of Yesteryear," are titles of some of the books of poetry written by Bob Ross. Ample proof that the author has had more than a sitting acquaintance with many an outdoor "privy". Nominated by Don Vaniman |
